COME ONE, COME ALL – MANAGING EXCELLENCE HAS IT ALL!
CFBMC announces the 2010 Managing Excellence in Agriculture Conference.
Innovative farmers from the very large to the very small are finding their niche in the complex mosaic of
Canadian agriculture – and we need them all. Success is not confined to one category of farm, or one
business model. The continually evolving market is creating opportunities for farm managers who are
perceptive, creative, and nimble.
Whether you’re the head of a large farming corporation or the successor of a small family farm, the Canadian
Farm Business Management Council (CFBMC) has designed an event you don’t want to miss!
The 2010 Managing Excellence in Agriculture Conference (MEAC) will bring together producers and other
agriculture professionals from across Canada to inform, inspire and entertain. Hear from industry experts,
network, build and renew alliances, and equip yourself with new ideas to expand your management toolbox.
This Conference seeks to demonstrate that success is not determined by the size of your farm operation, but
rather, farm business management skills and practices and staying informed of and open to new ideas will put
you on the road to success.
Our opening keynote speaker Dr. Lowell Catlett, an economist and futurist, will entertain and educate you,
whatever your connection to agriculture.
Please join us for this fantastic event which includes plenary sessions, workshops, and many networking
opportunities. Pre-tour also available.

The February CAFA Meeting will be held on Thursday of next week (Feb. 4) at noon. The meeting will be held in Shellbrook at the Neighbourhood Caterers Restaurant on Mainstreet (look for the sign).
The speaker for the meeting will be Ken Person.
Ken has worked in the agriculture industry since he was 10 years old helping his dad on their mixed farm. He has worked in the ag retail business for the past 18 years with Esso and Coop both in Shellbrook, SK. This past August he decided to join the Agri-Trend network as an Agri-Coach. His presentation will contain details on what an Agri-Coach brings to the farm clients. He will also be mentioning a few things about Carbon or as Agri-Trend calls it Aggregation.
If you are planning to attend the meeting, please respond to me by Monday, February 1. Please let me know if you are bringing any guests to the meeting as well. The meeting is being catered, and therefore we need to know numbers ahead of time for food. The meal cost per person attending will be approximately $12 - $15.
Hope to see you all there!
