Florence Carey graduated with a law degree from U of M in 2000, articled at Aikins, MacAulay & Thorvaldson LLP, and has continued as a lawyer with the Aikins Tax Group since that time. She practices in the area of taxation, with experience in tax and succession planning, charities, corporate reorganizations and resolving reassessments with the Canada Revenue Agency. Her background growing up on a farm in south-western Manitoba has given her a keen interest in the tax laws relating to farmers and farm business. In keeping with that interest, Florence is the Chair of the Winnipeg Chapter of the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors.
