CAFA has three membership categories:
Entrance Requirements - as of September 30, 2004 There are two classes of membership, regular and affiliate. Regular members vote and can use the designation. Affiliate members cannot. Affiliate members are primarily farmers. Both regular and affiliate members must be individuals, at least 18 years of age. As of September 30, 2004 unless otherwise determined by the National Membership Chair, applicants for regular membership:
Commencing September 30, 2005, regular members must meet one further criterion; they must pass a prescribed exam. CAFA will at that introduce a probationary membership - akin to an articling student - i.e. someone who is a member pending their successfully writing the exam. During their probation, they cannot vote or use the designation.
