Peter Aarssen

Pete has served in the Canadian Armed Forces and has worked, traveled or resided in every Canadian province. He began his career in 1983 as a representative of London Life in Wallaceburg, Ontario. In a few short years, he accepted several, field management roles working in Guelph, Mississauga and in Chatham. In 1993, he accepted an appointment to the role of Manager, Management development at London Life's head office and held other roles there including that of Director of Training and Development and Vice-President of Distribution for Southwestern Ontario and Atlantic Canada.

In 2000, following the creation of the Freedom 55 Financial Division, Pete accepted an appointment to Regional Director for the three offices comprising the Southwestern Ontario Financial Centre. There he directs a team of more than 100 financial security advisors and a team of 12 managers.

He has earned his CFP, CLU, CH.F.C, and CAFA professional designations. He has most recently completed his Elder Planning Counselor designation - or EPC. Pete has been invited to speak at company and Industry meetings throughout Canada. He has remained an active contributor to the needs of his industry and to making a difference politically, having held various leadership roles in his local, Federal riding association, including candidate nominee.

Pete married into a successful farm family. He is an avid outdoorsman and a committed family man. He has a passion for the many needs of the family, the family farm and the family small business and has a particularly well-developed understanding of the many issues confronting Canadian elders; those people aged 55 and over.

He and Shelley have four children and together, they enjoy raising a variety of animals on their hobby farm just outside of Sarnia, Ontario as well!
