Ted Clysdale

I specialize in providing financial services to farm and small businesses. Succesion Planning and Portfolio Management are important aspects of my business.

Started in the Life Insurance business in 1985. Licensed to sell life & disability insurance, segregated funds, group benefit plans (i.e. group insurance, pensions, group RRSP’s).

Completed L.U.A.T.C. (Life Underwriters Association Training Course) level one, 1986. Completed L.U.A.T.C. level two, 1987.

Joined local trust company in 1988 working in the personal trust area (a.k.a. Wealth Management). My area of expertise while working in this area included selling estate planning, estate settlement services & investment management (discretionary management) to clients. Completed mutual fund licensing in 1989 & Canadian Securities Course in 1994.

In 1996 I began working with an accounting firm that specialized in farm accounting. My role was to offer estate & financial planning to the firm’s accounting clients. In this role I worked with many independent mutual fund companies. I was licensed again for life & health insurance in 1996.

I began working for a local bank in 1997 as an Investment & Retirement Planner offering financial planning and investment advice to clients in the Campbellford, Hastings, Norwood and Warkworth areas. Lakefield was added in 1998 to my territory. My territory changed in August of 2000 to Lindsay & Lakefield.

In January of 2002 I became an independent Financial Planner servicing Central Ontario. I work with many independent mutual fund and investment companies. I also work with GIC Invest where I can offer GIC’s from over 50 different companies. I am also licensed to sell life, accident & sickness insurance products with several life insurance companies.

I grew up on a dairy farm outside of Peterborough, which I farmed from 1976 to 1982. After that I worked for a farm equipment dealer as a salesman servicing Central Ontario from 1982 to 1984. Then as an industrial salesman in 1984 to 1985, prior to working in the financial services field.

I have been President of Dobbin Road Association since 1988. I am the secretary of the Lake Wilbermere Cottage Association. I have coached softball, youth soccer teams & I am active in minor hockey in the Peterborough area.
